The Greatest Feminist Love Letter of All Time

[Another great post from contributor Kyl Myers]

My Dearest:

I know you haven’t been completely compatible with others – and they sometimes talk shit on you or doubt your loyalty. I get that you’re not one-size-fits-all. Love isn’t either. But you’re the one for me.

Thank you for being there for me while I pursue my education and my career. I honestly could not have gotten this far without you.

I am grateful for your unconditional acceptance of my bisexuality – you didn’t leave me when I didn’t need you – but when I did need you, you were right there, no questions asked.

There have been others. Sure. But as Sinead O’Connor says, nothing compares to you.

Thanks for being on the same page as me – when I say things like “Fuck kids” – you’re like, “I know, right?” But then you immediately say, “You’d be a great mom, so if you ever decide that you’d like kids, just let me know and a mom you’ll be. But, yeah, right now? Fuck kids.”

Because of you, sex is spontaneous and fun and I always feel safe and protected and free to let go of my inhibitions.

You never punish me for not thinking about you.

I tell everyone about our love. Sometimes they don’t understand – but what we have is special. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. I don’t even care about the opinions of people who had you before I did.

I love you. Being with you is easy. I don’t have to even think about it – I just know that when I found you, it’s like a found a piece of me that was missing…

…A 50-cent-coin sized, plastic, T-shaped, hormone-releasing, 98% effective piece of me.

IUD, I love you.

(Well.. For another three years and then I’m gonna have to trade you in for a newer model because you’ll be useless)
