According to the Internet sources we use, it’s a pretty slow week in the feminist-friendly events sector, but both of the events listed below are sure to be fantastic!

Tuesday, February 11th

The Race Card Project with Michele Norris: How do you condense a lifetime of experience and thoughts about race into six words? That’s the challenge National Public Radio’s Michele Norris has put to anyone willing to take part in “The Race Card Project.” Norris will talk about race and the project. Details: From 7-9 p.m. at the Salt Lake Community College Grand Theatre (1575 S. State, Salt Lake City). Register here. 

Friday, February 14th

Sheroes United One Billion Rising: We have a half day of events planned for our ONE BILLION rising day. These include a tribute to our protectors, several well-known speakers, indoor/outdoor venue, bands, several dance competitions, booths, educational information, local female law enforcement on hand to support, Our space is a historic train station with plenty of room for celebration. At 5:00 we will be summoned to the outdoor fountains where several African Dance Tribes will entice us with their unique style of drumming. That will turn into our flash mob (videos on www.sheroesunited.org how to dance) There will be a huge balloon release and a party in the streets!!!!! Come rise with us for a half day of the most exciting, educational, motivational, memorable day you will have all year. YOU do not want to miss this event! Last years participants are still raving about it. Tell your circle of influence. We want 10,000 minimum. RISE! and never forget the feeling? After the event several of the merchants have made arrangements for our attendees.
