Film screening of The Overnighters: The documentary “The Overnighters,” which looks at the problem of desperate men coming to North Dakota’s oil fields in search of work but unable to find housing — and a pastor who defies his congregation to help them. Details: Starts at 7 p.m. at the Viridian Event Center (1825 W. 8030 South, West Jordan).

Friday, August 14th

Amalia Ulman – Stock Images Of War: Exploring themes of confinement, fragility, and pain, Amalia Ulman complicates divergent senses of pleasure and discomfort to cleverly deconstruct connotations of war in western pop culture. The exhibit runs Aug. 14-Oct. 31, 2015. An opening reception will be held Aug. 28, 7-9 p.m. Visit Utah Museum of Contemporary Art for more information.
