Tuesday, April 9th

Open House at the Rape Recovery Center. Come have a conversation with our volunteer and diversity coordinators. They will provide a warm and welcoming environment where you can learn about what the Rape Recovery Center does and how anyone can make a difference. Light refreshments and food will be provided. Details: From 12:00-2:30 p.m. at the Rape Recovery Center (2035 South 1300 East Salt Lake City).

Friday, April 12th

Yoga for Healing, a workshop for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

  • Female identified individuals only. Class held at the Rape Recovery Center (2035 South 1300 East Salt Lake City)
  • Spanish speaking individuals only. Class held at Mestizo Institute of Culture and Art, 631 W.North Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., male identified individuals only. 10:30-12:00, female identified individuals only.

Saturday, April 13th

3rd Annual Slutwalk! Bring your friends! Bring your family! But be advised that frank and open conversations will be taking place about sexual violence. Details: Starts at 1:00 p.m. at City Hall. Participants will march in solidarity by the new police station, the old police station, and the district attorney’s office back to City Hall across the street from the court house to symbolize the process some survivors go through when they choose to file a report.

Parents of Survivors Workshop. For parents and caregivers who would like to learn more about how to take care of themselves and support the survivor in their lives. Required RSVP to (801)467-7282 ext. 219. Details: From 9:00 am. to 12:00 p.m. at the Rape Recovery Center (2035 South 1300 East Salt Lake City).

Monday, April 15th

Screening of The Invisible War. A viewing of the award winning film, followed by a panel discussion made up of veteran survivors, military personnel and community sexual assault experts. Details: Starts at 6 p.m. in the Building 9 Auditorium on 700 Foothill Boulevard, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Poetry Slam for Survivors of Sexual Assault. Come listen to original slam pieces or perform your own. Details: From 7-9 p.m. Union Den, on the University of Utah Campus (200 South Central Campus Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah).
