YWCA Young Women’s Leadership Summit. he summit is designed to inspire and educate young women 18 and older. Vietnamese Art & Artifact call for entries: The Utah Cultural Celebration Center is currently accepting entries for a Vietnamese themed art and artifact exhibit, May 16-June 26, 2013. Entries will be accepted March 27-May 2, 2013. To be considered for the exhibit, contact Michael Christensen at michael.christensen@wvc-ut.gov.

Film screening of Living with Bipolar Disorder followed by a discussion. Details: 6:30 p.m. at the University of Utah College of Nursing (10 South 2000 East).

Film screening of Valentine Road the story, which which examines a chilling incident of school violence, when an eighth-grade boy in Oxnard, Calif., shot and killed a classmate – a boy who had given the shooter a “be mine” valentine the day before. Followed by a Q&A session with Director Marta Cunningham, facilitated by KUER’s Doug Fabrizio. Details: Starts at 7 p.m. at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center (138 West 300 South).

Thursday, May 2nd

“Present at the Passing” workshop with Hospice Chaplain Kelly Fogerty. this experiential workshop will explain some of the milestones and changes at the end of life, show you how to support someone facing these changes, and teach you ways to care for yourself and others who may be involved. Details: From 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Public Library (in the Level 4 conference room).

Friday, May 3rd

“The World’s Strongest Libraraian: A Memoir of Tourette’s, Faith, Strength, and the Power of Family.” A book signing with local author Josh Hanagarne. Details: Starts at 7 p.m. at Barnes and Noble (1102 East 2100 South).

Saturday, May 4th

10th Annual Live Green SLC Festival, showcasing the latest in all things green. Details: From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Public Library (210 East 400 South).

Writing for Change Workshop. Does change in democracy require civic dialogue? If so, where is it and who gets to talk? Or write? Join the CWC to learn techniques of writing for change. Come with a concern and stay to write a letter to a public official with the help of CWC writing coaches. Crossroads Urban Center–Beer, Blues & Brats fundraiser.
