National Day of Reason Panel: A message from a reader on the panel, “There will be 2 women on the panel. And the panel is going to be responding to audience questions (can be submitted ahead of time). The theme is Separation of Church and State, but I know the Coalition of Reason leaders are very invested in promoting feminist issues. It could be a good opportunity to bring up the problems of religious influence on reproductive rights etc.” Details:  Starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Library. 

Rupaul’s Drag Race: Battle Of The Seasons: RuPaul, the world’s most famous drag queen, will present his Drag Race: Battle of the Seasons. Raunchy and wicked, sexy and beautiful, each drop-dead diva will attempt to outshine her rivals in a fast-paced, live presentation hosted by judge Michelle Visage, with special guest DJ Mimi Imfurst. And the Banned Played On: Celebrate the First Amendment with Plan-B Theatre Company’s presentation “And the Band Played On.” The event features Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker, Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill, and Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams, among others, who will read from banned literature. Junior League Of Salt Lake City 5k: The Junior League of Salt Lake City is taking to the streets to raise funds for our community projects with our second 5k of May. Join us for this fun run followed by a Cinco de Mayo fiesta hosted by Rico’s Market. Work out with the whole family in the 5K race and kids’ fun run. Immediately following the race enjoy fresh tacos, drinks, and live music. Each entry to the race includes a race gift and entrance into the fiesta which includes food and drink.
