Screening of Paper Tigers: To recognize Sexual Assault Awareness Month and highlight the intersections between trauma and the school-to-prison pipeline several community organizations (including Racially Just Utah, Planned Parenthood Association of Utah, ACLU of Utah, Salt Lake Peer Court, and Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault) are hosting a film screening of “Paper Tigers” followed by a panel discussion. The film and discussion will address toxic stress and victimization as contributors to school pushout. Details: This event is free, but registration is required. From 5:30-8:30 at the Marmalade Branch Library (280 West 500 North, Salt Lake City, UT 84103).

Stand Against Racism–Racism Hurts Everyone: Join Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams in taking a Stand Against Racism. Musical Entertainment and dessert will be provided! Details: From noon to 1 at the Salt Lake County Government Center (2001 S State Street, South Building Atrium).

Saturday, April 30th

Fearless 5k Walk/Run: April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Fearless Self Defense is proud to present our second annual Fearless 5k run/walk. 100% of the proceeds benefit the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault. The after party includes Waffle Love, free self-defense demonstrations, the Clothesline Project, and more! Details: From 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Memory Grove. Buy tickets here.
