My name is Chelsea Kilpack, and I’m an advocate of feminism living in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have an MA in Community Leadership from Westminster College, and a Bachelor of Science in Gender Studies and Political Science from the University of Utah. My research interests include the prevention of sexual assault at an institutional level, enthusiastic consent and the role of sex positivity, and institutional diversity. I no longer update this site, but if you’d like to connect with me and learn more about my work please feel free to send me an email (chelsea.kilpack@gmail.com), follow me on Twitter, or reach out via LinkedIn.

This site is a space where my friends and I share local and national news, gender studies theory, a feminist analysis of pop-culture, and bits of our life experience living in this conservative valley.

The Mission

The goal of this site is to spread information about feminism, activism, and everything in between. I try to avoid overly academic prose and a writing style that alienates people outside of the academy (that means there’s some cussing and attempts at jokes). I advocate for a world without the following:

  •  Racism/white privilege
  • Sizeism
  • Sexism
  • Classism
  • Ableism
  • Homophobia
  • Transphobia
  • Victim-blaming

Policy on Comment Moderation

This is a space for constructive dialogue, which means we all have to check the personal insults at the keyboard. SLC Feminist will not tolerate racism, sexism, victim blaming, or anything from the list above in our comments section. Keep it tactful, keep it constructive, and keep in mind that there’s a person behind the words you respond to.
